A VERY patient cat

Our "little" cat is Picatso. He weighs in at 18 lbs and got in line twice when tails were being passed out.
He has an incredible amount of self-control around the girls and they love to lick, nibble and even chew on him.
Our old cat, Harley, has none of the above virtues.

Ani the mountain climber

Ani has decided that an open gate is an invitation to visit the cat's domain, upstairs.

We had the steps carpeted a couple of months ago and now she and Lily fly up them whenever opportunity knocks. Down, however, is strictly verbotten and they are both afraid of gravity.

Here, she is awaiting her next daddy-dog taxi.

The clean-up

As you can see, we had a little work to do on the pup's nose. Luckily, she didn't cause any collateral damage.

Yep........BUSTED!

This is the punctured packet.

Lily makes a discovery

Sue found Lily chewing something. As she lifted her out of her doggy bed she saw red stains in the bed ! We were starting to freak out when Sue discovered a Crystal light Raspberry Ice packet on the floor.

The following pics are of Lily being caught red handed (actually red muzzled). She'd managed to get the packet out of my lunch box.

Lesson learned (by me).

Todays yard guest

Ani was barking at the door this evening so naturally I thought the local bunny had stopped by.
Imagine my suprise when I spotted this rascal ambling across the front yard !

I'm sure this 4 inch snapping turtle would've taught a curious puppy a lesson or two.....

Graduation day !

The proud Dog-Father (Guido Dogleone) and the semi-humiliated Ani (note the silly hat) at her graduation ceremony.
I'm wearing my "I heart my weiner" shirt but you can't see it.
I think we'll just train Lily on our own, at home.

Watch me.....

Ani get's some training from Marci using her favorite treat.
Food is always her best motivator !

Ani in training

We had decided that we needed help with Ani so we enrolled her(us) at a Petsmart class. It was scheduled for 8 weeks but the 4th of July was in the middle so it ended up being 9 weeks.
On week two, Sue's dad Passed away and that threw us off, but we got through that and all the turmoil that's insued.
Anyway, here we are working with the trainer , Marci.
It was almost all one-on-one with the other guy almost never showing up.
And Marci LOVES Ani !

Another snooze shot

I love it when the girls are totally worn out and content to lie peacefully with (or on) each other.

Lily using Ani as a pillow is just too sweet.

A crate meant for one

This cheap Wal-mart crate that all the critters seem to love is not as big as they seem to think it is.

They've actually been in there with Picatso (all 18 lbs of him) but I've never been fast enough to get a picture of that.

Penny for your thoughts

As Ani looks longingly out onto her front yard, I've got to wonder just what's going through her doggy mind.

Is that Rabbit coming back ?
Will we go for a walk soon ?
What's beyond that hedge across the street ?
How long till lunch ?

Or is she just enjoying not having Lily pestering her.

Just a walk in the woods

Sue and Lily take a brief respite on the shortcut back off the mountain.
The mountain was quite an adventure for a bunch of flat-landers like us.
